Our Recent Fund Raiser
On Thursday, September 10, the St. Maria’s Home community gathered at Amaterra Winery for our Building Hope Gala, and it surpassed our expectations! With perfect weather, breathtaking views of the Willamette Valley and an unforgettable setting at America’s #1 winery restaurant, it was a beautiful and hope-filled evening.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, volunteered, prayed for the event or shared our mission with others. Together, we raised more than $150,000 to help bring St. Maria’s Home to life!
A special thank-you to David and Margaret Bereit for joining us and sharing such an inspiring message. Margaret’s stories of transformation from Mary’s Shelter reminded us that there is a proven and successful way to walk alongside mothers and their children. This work is possible. It has been done, and now, together, we have the opportunity to do it here in Portland.
Marie shared how her mission of St. Maria’s Home began, Helen spoke about the vision and goals for its future, and Claire shared part of her own story and the profound difference that support, stability and motherhood can make in the life of a woman and her child.
Perhaps the most inspiring part of the evening, however, was the community gathered around this mission: people who see the vision for St. Maria’s Home and want to help make it a reality through prayer, generosity, advocacy and sharing our work with others.
The incredible generosity of this community has put us well on our way toward funding the renovations that will transform our future home. It has also brought us closer to our $350,000 goal to open St. Maria’s Home and support our first year of operations. Together, we are building the foundation to welcome women and their children and serve them well.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Amaterra Winery; David and Margaret Bereit; our generous event and table sponsors; our speakers, volunteers and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the evening possible. We are equally grateful to every member of our wider St. Maria’s Home community whose prayers, encouragement and support continue to carry this mission forward.
Together, we are one step closer to opening the doors of St. Maria’s Home, a place where women and their children can find safety, support, hope and home. We look forward to sharing our progress with you as renovations begin and this long-awaited home starts to take shape.
Thank you for believing in this mission, for helping us build hope and for continuing to walk with us as we bring St. Maria’s Home to life.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The St. Maria’s Home Team
Where women and their children find home.
